Why Work for Daisy

Daisy has come a long way since it was first set up in 2001 by our Chief Executive Officer Matthew Riley. What started out as a small business run from his garage has rapidly grown to become one of the UK’s leading business communication providers.

In a nutshell, we sell communication services – such as telephone systems, landlines, broadband and mobile – to small to medium enterprises in the UK, as well as large corporates.  As a fast-growing company, we currently employ more than 1,400 people at 15 sites across the UK and have more than 75,000 retail customers.

In July 2009 the business floated on the AIM following the reverse takeover of Freedom4 Group plc and the newly combined organisation was named Daisy Group plc.

Prior to flotation, we pursued a strategy to consolidate the fragmented reseller market and 21 acquisitions completed as a limited company. Since July 2009, we have completed 15 strategic acquisitions.

As a business we shifted from a traditional lines and calls business to become a unified communications provider that now has four core product areas of Voice, Data, Mobile and Systems.

Over the years, Daisy Group plc has regularly been recognised for outstanding growth in independent surveys and awards programmes. As a private company Daisy Communications grew rapidly. The company was named the fastest growing technology company in the UK (Sunday Times Tech Track 2005) and has been repeatedly placed in Deloitte’s Fast50.

Matthew’s achievements with Daisy Communications have also been independently recognised through the Ernst & Young’s UK Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2007. In the same year he was also the winner of the Bank of Scotland Entrepreneur Challenge, securing a £5 million interest free loan from Bank of Scotland and mentoring from Sir Philip Green.
