What do I need to know when selecting a colocation provider
When it comes to selecting a Colocation provider you need to know that your servers and applications are hosted in a secure, clean environment that supports high availability that you can scale rapidly when needed and that you are protected from malicious attacks by the very best in security services.
How quickly can my colocation space be ready for my servers ?
Your space should be delivered, live and available for use within five (5) working days. Our data centre staff will be on hand to provide assistance when you first move your equipment into our data centres.
What is Daisy's SLA for Colocation services?
We provide a comprehensive 99.99% SLA on network and power availability.
How many IP addresses are allocated to a customer?
You will be allocated as many IP addresses as you require, subject to justification and any maximum limits imposed by Réseaux IP Européens (RIPE).Please bear in mind that four IP addresses less than the number purchased will be available.
What is Remote Hands ?
Remote hands services offer the customer the opportunity to use Daisy data centre staff to carry out certain tasks on their behalf. Remote hands services are available in one hour per month blocks.
Remote hands services include power cycling of equipment; restarting servers; cable organisation, ties or labelling; button pushing; observing, describing or reporting on indicator lights or display information on machines; media insertion; managed reboot and File System Check (FScK); escorting parties to and from customer racks.
What is Tape rotation ?
If the customer has deployed their own tape-based back-up device Daisy staff can manage the installation/rotation of tapes within the drive. The customer should include an outline of the procedure for installing / removing tapes, a timetable for when this should be done and details of the number of tape changes required. We will rotate tapes on daily, weekly or monthly cycle all year round, including bank holidays.
Who do I speak to when I call the help desk?

Can I upgrade my package during my contract period?
Yes, but subject to reviews around bandwidth and firewalls. We cannot guarantee that space will be contiguous. A Colocation upgrade is never as simples just adding more racks and more equipment.
How often can I visit the data centre to work on my equipment?
You can visit as often as you like, on a 24/7x365basis, subject to our standard security clearances and procedures. For example, you must give unnoticed of a visit in advance and you must bring suitable identification with you. A Daisy engineer will accompany you to and from your racks, and you will be continuously monitored on CCTV.
How are my servers connected to the Internet?
Through a dedicated 100Mb Ethernet connection directly into your rack. You are able to choose from2Mbps to 1Gbps. Our dedicated bandwidth services allow you to burst your bandwidth up to twice your contracted volume, all you have to do is ask your account manager for the 95th percentile option when contracting your service.
Do you manage colocated servers?
No we do not. Customers looking for a managed service should consider our Managed services, subject to their requirements.
